Pour appliquer ce que nous pensons \u00eatre la bonne solution pour traverser une canicule. Mais faisons-nous attention \u00e0 la quantit\u00e9 d\u2019eau absorb\u00e9e ? Non, et c\u2019est un tort. Car elle m\u00e8ne souvent \u00e0 ce que les m\u00e9decins qualifient d\u2019hyponatr\u00e9mie.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Un trouble m\u00e9connu mais \u00e0 ne pas prendre \u00e0 la l\u00e9g\u00e8re.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Qu\u2019est-ce que l\u2019hyponatr\u00e9mie\u00a0?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Sans verser dans le jargon m\u00e9dical, une hyponatr\u00e9mie peut se d\u00e9finir comme un exc\u00e8s d\u2019eau par rapport \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sence de sel dans ce que l\u2019on nomme le volume extracellulaire (VEC). En d\u2019autres termes, il s\u2019agit d\u2019un probl\u00e8me qui se d\u00e9clenche quand le taux de sodium se r\u00e9v\u00e8le trop faible dans le corps. Des cas d\u2019hyponatr\u00e9mie qui peuvent aussi \u00eatre li\u00e9s \u00e0 certaines pathologies, d\u2019origine r\u00e9nale ou cardiaque.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Quelles sont les personnes \u00e0 risques\u00a0?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Certaines cat\u00e9gories de la population sont plus sensibles au d\u00e9clenchement de cas d\u2019hyponatr\u00e9mie. Il s\u2019agit surtout des personnes plus \u00e2g\u00e9es (8 \u00e0 10% des cas), de patients souffrant d\u2019hypothyro\u00efdie (4%), d\u2019insuffisance r\u00e9nale ou cardiaque, de cirrhose (30%) ou de maladies chroniques. Nombreuses sont les causes possibles dont la prise de certains m\u00e9dicaments, comme les antid\u00e9presseurs et les diur\u00e9tiques, qui constitue aussi un facteur de risque. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>De l\u2019importance du sodium dans l\u2019organisme<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Le sodium (symbole chimique Na) constitue un sel min\u00e9ral capital dans le bon d\u00e9roulement de la digestion et de la r\u00e9gulation de la quantit\u00e9 d\u2019eau pr\u00e9sente dans notre corps. O\u00f9 le trouve-t-on\u00a0? Tout simplement dans le sel de table mais \u00e9galement dans les aliments transform\u00e9s que nous consommons. Si les cons\u00e9quences d\u2019un exc\u00e8s de sel sont connues<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>(tension art\u00e9rielle, r\u00e9tention d\u2019eau etc.), un d\u00e9ficit dans l\u2019organisme conduit \u00e0 des d\u00e9r\u00e8glements qui vont des crampes musculaires \u00e0 la d\u00e9shydratation s\u00e9v\u00e8re ou \u00e0 de la fatigue prononc\u00e9e. A titre informatif, les besoins de sodium au quotidien sont de 500 mg au minimum et 2400 mg au maximum (donn\u00e9es de l\u2019observatoire des aliments).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Des sympt\u00f4mes multiples<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Une hyponatr\u00e9mie sera souvent confirm\u00e9e par une prise de sang. L\u2019avis d\u2019un m\u00e9decin sera toujours primordial au vu de la gravit\u00e9 potentielle. Certains \u00e9l\u00e9ments observables peuvent cependant d\u00e9j\u00e0 vous alerter\u00a0:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Un \u00e9tat l\u00e9thargique<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">De la confusion dans le comportement, des d\u00e9lires voire des signes d\u2019irritabilit\u00e9.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Des naus\u00e9es accompagn\u00e9es (ou pas) de vomissements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Des <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiftyandmemagazine.be\/fr\/sante\/medecine\/cephalee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">maux de t\u00eate<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Des convulsions, des tremblements, des crampes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Le coma dans la forme s\u00e9v\u00e8re constat\u00e9e.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Quels traitements adopter\u00a0?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Pour l\u2019hyponatr\u00e9mie comme pour d\u2019autres pathologies, le seul bon diagnostic sera pos\u00e9 par le m\u00e9decin, en fonction de la s\u00e9v\u00e9rit\u00e9 des sympt\u00f4mes. Une r\u00e9duction de l\u2019apport en eau (ou restriction hydrique) sera fr\u00e9quemment recommand\u00e9e, avec une fourchette comprise entre 500 et 1000 ml par jour. Celle-ci pourra \u00eatre propos\u00e9e sous forme d\u2019alternatives, comme des fruits ou des potages, des l\u00e9gumes bourr\u00e9s d\u2019eau. La prise de certains m\u00e9dicaments sera parfois prescrite pour \u00e9vacuer l\u2019eau pr\u00e9sente en exc\u00e8s.
