Des \u00e9tudes comme celle men\u00e9e par la Yale School of Medicine r\u00e9v\u00e8lent que son origine principale r\u00e9side dans la faible luminosit\u00e9 ambiante. Ses effets se font sentir d\u00e8s l&rsquo;automne et atteignent leur apog\u00e9e en hiver, lorsque les journ\u00e9es sont les plus courtes. Les recherches montrent \u00e9galement que la d\u00e9pression saisonni\u00e8re est trois fois plus fr\u00e9quente chez les femmes, bien qu\u2019aucune explication d\u00e9finitive n\u2019ait \u00e9t\u00e9 trouv\u00e9e. Il est important de noter que se sentir d\u00e9prim\u00e9 pendant l&rsquo;hiver, de mani\u00e8re passag\u00e8re, n\u2019est pas inqui\u00e9tant. Ce petit coup de blues que nous ressentons tous \u00e0 cette p\u00e9riode n\u2019est pas forc\u00e9ment un signal d&rsquo;alarme. Le diagnostic de d\u00e9pression saisonni\u00e8re se pose lorsque les sympt\u00f4mes r\u00e9apparaissent chaque ann\u00e9e \u00e0 la m\u00eame \u00e9poque.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Des sympt\u00f4mes caract\u00e9ristiques de la d\u00e9pression hivernale<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La d\u00e9pression hivernale se caract\u00e9rise par des sympt\u00f4mes classiques de la d\u00e9pression, associ\u00e9s \u00e0 des signes sp\u00e9cifiques. Parmi les plus courants, on note l\u2019hypersomnie, un besoin excessif de sommeil, une baisse de tonus g\u00e9n\u00e9ralis\u00e9e avec un manque d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie, et une tendance \u00e0 manger plus, en particulier des aliments sucr\u00e9s. Des troubles de l\u2019humeur peuvent aussi se manifester, comme l\u2019irritabilit\u00e9 et la tristesse, accompagn\u00e9s d\u2019une rumination n\u00e9gative, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire des pens\u00e9es noires r\u00e9currentes. D\u2019autres sympt\u00f4mes incluent une baisse de libido, des difficult\u00e9s de concentration et un repli sur soi, avec une tendance \u00e0 s\u2019isoler.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Quels conseils pour retrouver le moral ?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adopter une approche pr\u00e9ventive est l&rsquo;une des meilleures solutions. Selon Sophie Renoir, coach de vie, sortir chaque jour pour profiter de la lumi\u00e8re naturelle est essentiel. Au moins trente minutes de soleil suffisent pour recharger ses batteries, tout en favorisant la production de vitamine D, id\u00e9ale pour stimuler la s\u00e9cr\u00e9tion de s\u00e9rotonine, cette fameuse hormone du bonheur. Il est \u00e9galement possible de prendre de la vitamine D sous forme de compl\u00e9ments alimentaires ou d\u2019ajouter \u00e0 son alimentation des aliments riches en vitamine D, comme les poissons gras, les \u0153ufs et les produits laitiers. Un autre moyen d\u2019apporter de la lumi\u00e8re est la luminoth\u00e9rapie, qui consiste \u00e0 s\u2019exposer quotidiennement \u00e0 une lampe de luminoth\u00e9rapie (environ 10 000 lux) pendant une trentaine de minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Quand envisager un traitement pour la d\u00e9pression ?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Si les sympt\u00f4mes deviennent plus graves ou persistent de mani\u00e8re anormale, il peut \u00eatre utile de consulter un m\u00e9decin pour obtenir un traitement adapt\u00e9. Lorsqu\u2019ils sont pris avec un dosage pr\u00e9cis et limit\u00e9 dans le temps, les antid\u00e9presseurs peuvent aider \u00e0 soulager les sympt\u00f4mes de la d\u00e9pression saisonni\u00e8re.
